Circulon Contempo Hard Anodized Nonstick 8-Inch and 10-Inch Skillets Twin Pack

Great for the price., (What's this?) I eat eggs most mornings. These pans work well and are easy to clean except on the silver knobs inside the pan. Egg that gets stuck on those little buggers take a little more effort to get off but it's worth the effort for the cost. Good for the price. I'm not a chef but I do cook at least two meals a day so these get regular use.
Bad design & poor customer service from Circulon, (What's this?) I purchased these skillets (package of both the 8" and 10") due to the great price from Amazon. I am happy with the quality of the skillet itself and the non-stick surface, however, there is what I will call as "design flaw" with the handles.

The handles are not mounted flush against the side of the skillet. The causes water to build up inside of the handle, which will slowly drip out for a day or two wherever the skillet is stored. I originally thought that these was a defect specific to my purchase (as it really only happens on the 10", not the 8" and I didn't see any of the other reviewers here on Amazon comment on this). As such, I contacted Circulon customer service regarding replacement of the 10" skillet. Their response was as follows:

"This is not a defect and therefore not a valid warranty replacement issue.
The handles were designed that way."

If anyone can explain to me why the handles were designed this way, I would greatly appreciate it.
Good deal on quality pans, (What's this?) Nice pans that are thick and riveted rubber handles. The bottoms of the pans are ribbed and are NOT smooth. Well worth $30 for two.
great pan, (What's this?) the pans are extremely well made and a pleasure to use.
Circulon works!, (What's this?) You can't get individual pieces of Circulon at many stores. So we need to go to the net.
Really loving these, (What's this?) For the price, I doubted these skillets, but I love them (except the handles are too long). Didn't know till they arrived you could use metal utensils. They clean up beautifully and things don't stick. Again, I would recommend these for anyone except for the handles. Wish they were about 2-3" shorter. Just sometimes makes them a little awkward.
Great Pans!, (What's this?) So far I love these pans. Nothing sticks to them even if you don't use sprays or oils. I literally wipe them clean with a paper towel. I highly recommend them.
Circulon nonstick pans, (What's this?)
Expensive, but hopefully worth it, (What's this?) Got these pans earlier this year and have used them very sparingly up to now. Non-stick coating is great, performs "as advertised." I hope they last ~2 years and plan on reporting back to see how they're holding up. Reviews were very good and at this price point (paid $26 for the 2) I hope they are worth it.
cautiously optimistic, (What's this?) These pans were a great deal at $20 from amazon warehouse deals. They seem sturdy and durable and have a decent non stick surface. Unfortunately, they are not dishwasher safe. My main concern is how these will hold up over time. The instructions say not to use any cooking spray or heavy oils on the pan because it'll ruin the non stick coating. What??? This seems a bit ridiculous because to do any decent cooking, you always use oil of some sort. I went right ahead and ignored that warning. If worst case scenario these pans last only a year or two before the non stick surface is worthless, I figure I still will have gotten my money's worth.

Universal Housewares Pre-Seasoned Cast Iron 8 .5Inch Skillet

Cast Iron skillet, (What's this?) Love this skillet, cook everything in it. Eggs, chicken, fish, hamburger, everything. The secret is NEVER, NEVER wash it. Clean it with paper towels and a little table salt. Flavors do not leak over after each other. Soap and water ruin the non stick ability. I use olive oil or coconut oil to cook with in mine. If anything sticks a little just let it sit then wipe it clean when cold with paper towels. Great little skillet for one person.

Bought as a gift, (What's this?) I sent these to my sister for her birthday so I have not personally tested these pans out but I can pass along what she has told me about them after having them for about a week. Her overall opinion of them is quite positive, she said they are light weight, very non-stick, and clean up easily. She very much enjoys the fact that a square griddle pan came with the set.

Nordic Ware Italian Frittata and Omelette Pan

Better than expected!, (What's this?) I love this pan! I spray a little oil on both sides before I use, and it doesn't stick. Would have given 5 stars if the pan handled were rubberized so you don't have to use bulky hot pads. Handles do get quite hot. Definitely do recommend.

Heuck 33062 Porcelain Enamel Cast Iron 3 Piece Skillet Set, Red

They DO explode -- very poor quality, (What's this?) I bought these pans about two years ago for a very low price during one of Amazon's sales. I was skeptical of the reviews about exploding enamel and figured that the most likely explanation for that was simply user error. To those who warned me: I apologize! My neighbors bought these pans at about the same time. They lasted about a year and a half in both our households -- then the exploding began.

    PROS:
    1) They're cheap -- or they were. They now cost far more than what I paid for them.

    2) They lasted about as long as I happened to need them -- but it looks like I was one of the lucky ones. As a temporary kitchen item, they worked out well for me.

    3) They're pretty. They look nice as serving dishes, and I liked having a splash of red in my otherwise neutral-toned kitchen.
Beware the expoling enamel!, (What's this?) I read the previous reviews with great skeptisism, but come to find out they really do explode. Was sauteing some tomatoes like I had done before, when I heard a pop. Turned to see pieces of enamel from the bottom of the pan scattered around in the skillet and on the stove. All I can say is I'm glad I wasn't in the way when it happened. Seriously, this product should be recalled before someone really does get hurt.
Exploded on first use, (What's this?) I purchased these in 2008 and one of the skillets exploded on the first use. There were tiny shards of glass all over my kitchen and in our dinner. I tried to file a safety hazard report with Amazon, but couldn't make it through all the legal disclosures. I wasn't able to return them as I waited longer than 30 days to use them. We threw them in the trash. I have several Lodge and Le Creuset enameled pans that I have used for years without any problems. I saw these today while searching for something else. I'm surprised they are still being sold. Please don't buy these.
Heuck 33062 Porcelain, (What's this?) The porcelain coating is very cheap...I made the mistake to put the pan in the sink while the pan was hot. The white porcelain coating broke like glass...I WILL NOT RECOMEND THIS BRAND. UNSAFE.
Terrible, I was excited to find an enamel cast iron pan other than le crueset. I received this and made something in it and when cleaning, the enamel completely chipped off!! I read that this product was made cheaply but that is an understatement. There is only one small layer of enamel. I think other brands have a few so it is thicker and more durable. I will never buy another product from this company again and will splurge the extra money for something that is better made.
Worthless!, (What's this?) I purchased this set within the last year, and I have had to replace ALL THREE PIECES! The enamel chipped off of two, and the handle of the largest arrived broken.
I haven't used them. They are a Christmas gift for my daughter. She loves enamel cookware. I'm sure she will love them., (What's this?) Product was exactly what I was looking for as a gift and very similar to products I have purchased in department stores. The person I am buying for will only use cast iron and enamel cookware. The price was very reasonable.
Heuck Porcelain Enamel Skillets, (What's this?) I really like this product and most of all the service that came with the product. One of the pans peeled when I used it and I contacted the company and they replaced it right away without any questions asked. I would purchase anything from them again.
A Great Alternative to Teflon, (What's this?) My family decided to stop using Teflon cookware, which meant we needed some good, enamel-coated, pans. We decided to try this set. My experience with these pans has been extremely positive, which I will explain below.

First, they are a great deal, and sturdy. I couldn't find any set of coated cast iron pans that came even close to this low price. I have read the other reviews about the pans exploding, etc, and I can say that with almost a year of daily use, we haven't had any problems.

Second, the coating does a decent job of reducing sticking. If you want a near-perfect non-stick coating, you will have to use Teflon, because any healthy alternative just won't perform as well. Nonetheless, if used properly, these are pretty nearly non-stick. The keys to success are to make sure you use enough oil, don't turn the heat up too high too soon, and give the food time to cook before disturbing or flipping it.

    Third, this package is versatile.
waste, (What's this?) the first time i used these to cook in the red peeled....

Mario Batali 12-Inch Deep Skillet, Espresso

Great Skillet, (What's this?) I normally do not buy cookware which is endorsed by a famous chef. I look for quality and functionality rather than being trendy. This skillet is great! It is quality cast iron with a ceramic shell. It cooks evenly and is non-stick. The deep sides are perfect for all types of cooking. It is great for going from the cook-top to the oven or just for baking. Highly recommend.

  • Helper handle makes it easy to lift and carry
  • Excellent heat-retention for oven to tabletop use
  • 12-inch open skillet in chocolate with extra deep capacity--great for pan searing and braising meats
  • Strong cast iron construction with matte enamel texture on the interior

Cuisinart Chef's Classic Enameled Cast Iron 10-Inch Round Fry Pan, Cardinal Red

Great Value, (What's this?) I purchased this for my daughter. She really enjoys using it. It has enamel non-stick interior that really works! Cleans easily and is attractive.
great, (What's this?) its a great skillet qnd the size is just right.i have cooked stove top and have baked, works great.this cookware is so easy to cook with .if in doubt buy it, worth the money.so much higher at local stores.
Excellent pan!, (What's this?) I love this pan - I bought mainly to finish my frittatas - it's also beautiful and easier to keep clean than it's non-enameled cast-iron counterparts.
The Best 10 inch Skillet, I have found this pan have great quality and durability. I'm very happy with my purchase. This pan is a superior and safe alternative to the questionable toxicity of Teflon coated pans and it is more durable. I also like it better than bare cast iron. Some reviewers of the Lodge Enameled Cast-Iron Pans suggest treating the pans a certain way with oil to make them more non-stick. Even untreated I don't have much of a problem with sticking. I just coat with oil or butter when I use it. ANY type of pan can be abused or damaged from overheating. This pan is also fairly easy to clean. I hand wash with dish soap and water after soaking. I don't recommend abrasive pads. Occasional subborn burnt on stains can be safely removed with Comet powder. According to the enclosed instructions it is dishwasher safe.
Coated..., (What's this?) Guess I really didn't read the fine print - was hoping that the enamel was only on the outside and wanted a true cast iron finish on the inside. Either way, cooks fine, looks good, and because of the enamel is dishwasher safe (something that can't be said for cast iron).
sticky non stick pan, (What's this?)
Do not buy, (What's this?) I do not like this pan. I wanted to get it because I like the idea of a dark enameled cast iron pot. This does not stand up to the performance of the white enameled products.
Cuisinart clone...., (What's this?) Recently, I ordered one Cuisinart pan, and one Le Creuset pan....to me, they are equal..(they may come from the same source(?). The weight and finish seem identical. The food sticks to these, identically. Cleanup is equally time consuming...but...it's not Teflon....and the Cuisinart cost a third (+/-), of the price of the Le Creuset. I returned the Le Creuset...just could not justify the extra cost, for a seemingly identical pan.
Great pan, (What's this?) I've had this fry pan almost a year now and it has become my go-to pan. It is holding up great aside from the red finish dulling a little and some scuffs from wear...although I would attribute that more to the couple of times dh put it in the dishwasher...hand wash only! I would order again.
Love this pan!!!, (What's this?) I bought this pan because I was tired of "seasoning" my cast iron pan. I like to be able to wash my pans with water AND soap! From the first time I used it I cooked up the most juicy and tender steak! I actually believe it works better then broiling.

Farberware Restaurant Pro 12-Inch Open Skillet

Decent for the price, Non-stick coating works, holds up well after several dishwasher runs. Relatively small pan bottom for 12" skillet with deep sides. Takes a while to come up to temperature relative to its adequate weight. A decent cheap alternative to anodized aluminum.
Farberware 12" open skillet, This skillet is ample, with a large bottom surface for even browning of many items at a time. It is also quite deep for making large amounts of fried or cooked food.
Not good, Very thin poor quality. Will not last long. Any price is too high.
Best pan ever, (What's this?) This is the best pan I have ever used! It is deep so you can stir fry in it also.
A very good pan for the price, This pan looks and feels like a restaurant quality pan. It's very solidly built. The nonstick coating works well and seems to be of similar quality to my smaller All-Clad pan. The outside is brushed aluminum so you don't have to worry about scratches. The pan is a bit thinner than some of the high-end pans, but I prefer it since it heats up quickly, it's easier to moderate the temperature, and it's easier to maneuver. As far as I can tell it heats pretty evenly. My previous pan was a higher end Calphalon whose coating wore out within 2 years. In my opinion, it's not worth the investment to buy an expensive non-stick. I think you get more than what you pay for here.

J.A. Henckels International Classic Clad 12-Inch Non-Stick Fry Pan

A good skillet, with some caveats for induction and tossing, (What's this?) I've had this skillet for 4 months, and it is growing on me. I typically cook using cast iron or steel skillets.

If you have an induction range, (e.g., I have the Viking Induction) note that the skillet does not contain much inductive material, and it heats considerably slower than carbon steel or cast iron. On the other hand, that is convenient because you do not want to accidentally ruin a nonstick finish by overheating the pan.

There are two design shortcomings. First, the sides of the skillet are too vertical. It is not possible to "toss" well while sauteing. If you only "stir" this is not a problem. It would be better with more angled sides. The second shortcoming is that the handle has a small, awkward loop, which is hard to hang on a pot hook with any other pans.

The strengths are that the skillet is solid and well-built. The nonstick finish is well attached, and looks like new after four months. The nonstick finish is slightly textured which helps distribute oil.

Note a cover is not included. If you want one, you will need the J.A.
the pan to get, A fantastic fry pan. A little bit more pricey then the average "in store" pan but well worth it.
Perfect saute pan, (What's this?) We bought this on good faith, never having used Henckels cookware before. It's the perfect saute pan (for us): it has the most comfortable handle I've ever held; it has nice steep sides so flipping things is a breeze (no danger of something flying out); it's non-stick yet still dishwasher-safe, and it was a reasonable price. I will definitely buy more Henckels cookware -- absolutely.
Excellent, (What's this?) This is a very nice skillet. Sits flat on a ceramic cooktop. Cleans very easily. Heats evenly. A little pricey but seems to be solidly built.
VERY NICE PAN, (What's this?) This pan has become my most used pan in the kitchen. It costs more than some other brands, but its worth it.
Love this pan!!!, I love these pans, they are elegant looking, and cook great. Easy to clean and care for.
Great Pan, My wife and I got this for a wedding present, and we love it. Nothing sticks to it, and it's so easy to clean up. (We don't use metals utensils with it.) It's a little bit small for a 3-egg omelet, so you may want to look for a 10- or 12-inch version if that's what you're looking to use it for, but it's a great pan. We would definitely recommend it.
Love it... well built!!!, I love these pans, they are elegant looking, and cook great. Easy to clean and care for.
Impressive pan but some serious issues, (What's this?) I bought this and initially liked it very much. It is heavy and the handle is egronomically designed to reduce arm and wrist fatigue. Is is a pricey pan, but I cook a lot and have gone through many brands of quality non-stick pans. The problem with this pan is that within about 3 months of use, it developed a serious bulge in the center. I try to never use the highest heat setting, but with this pan it seemed to make little difference. When it was unbulged, it was great, but with the bulge, rather useless and unfixable.

I threw it out and have gone back to Cuisinart and Farberware, which are half the price of this and last twice as long.
Going to be my third!, (What's this?) Look, no non stick pan will last forever. I am not talking about your grandmothers cast iron but a modern teflon type pan. I use this pan most every day at least once but often two times. I dont even try to be nice to it either. I will sometimes use a metal spoon to stir but usually plastic, stack it in the sink with silverware in it and throw it in the dishwasher. This is my second pan lasting a couple of years each with that abuse so I dont think its out of line to pay the price and keep getting them. I bought the lid for it so this will be the third pan the lid will be going onto. I dont agree with some of the others who say you cant flip (like the pros) since I do this easily enough but then thats me. The weight and even cooking are excellent. Well under half the price of an all clad which I like but cant pay that much for a non stick type on my budget.

Cuisinart Chef's Classic Nonstick Hard-Anodized 3-Quart Chef's Pan with Cover

3 quart Chef's pan, (What's this?) Of all the pots and pans in our kitchen, this is the most versatile of all of them. It has turned in to the favorite pan that we use the most often. No sticking, easy clean up, very convenient. It does everything from boiling potatoes to deep frying chicken. I would purchase this pan again, and probably will, more than one in our kitchen is a blessing. It would also make a great gift.
Excellent, (What's this?) I've been using this for about 6 months now, and it's great. The teflon coating on the inside is still perfect, and the anodizing on the outside is fine, too. A good size, excellent glass lid, a dark bottom which works best with glass cooktops, not too heavy, but heavy enough for even heating. And less than half the price of Calphalon, which I find is not quite as good.
Perfect Pan, (What's this?) I use this pan almost daily. It is my favorite pan. Big enough for dinner and super easy clean up. I wish I had this years ago.
Chef's Pan, (What's this?) It is a really nice pan. Much larger than i expected. It cooks and cleans up very easily.
My only complaint is that the outside of the pan scratches very easily. i got two huge
scratches on the side when i put the pan in my cabinet with other pans. Now i just put it on
top of the stove. i do recommend this pan.
Be very careful, Too expensive. But, be very careful when placing on stove, especially gas which has an open grill. The handle is as heavy as the pot and mine has tipped over a couple of times. Make sure you have enough ingredients in pan to prevent this.
    Not worth the money.
GREAT PRODUCT, LOVE IT!, (What's this?) I would sooooo...recommend this product. I thought it's a bit small at first. But it's alright after you get use to it.
Cuisinart Chef's Classic Nonstick 1.5 Nonstick Pan, This is a Cuisinart 1.5 qt pan and not a 3 like they are asking me to review, but anyway, I bought it from Amazon.com and I just love it. Lid fits niceley. Let some noodles over cook the other day that I was warming up and forgot!! They weren't burn't and were not stuck to the pan. Great pan. I already own several.
Non-stick and light weight - perfect for oatmeal, (What's this?) A good test for whether cookware is non-stick or not is cooking some oatmeal in the pan. This pan has quick easy clean-up after cooking oatmeal. It is the perfect size for my larger burners and distributes heat well. The cover seems a little heavier than other cookware see-through lids, perhaps more durable. I am very pleased with this pan. I much prefer it to Calphalon JR8782-2P Contemporary Nonstick 2-1/2-Quart Shallow Saucepan with Lid which is a more expensive pan. I would purchase this pan again or other sizes in this line.
Luv it!, (What's this?) I use this pan everyday! Works for just about anything and cleans perfectly. Love the non-stick.
A very useful pan in my arsenal, (What's this?) I have used this pan at least twice a week since buying it. It is a well made pan and the non-stick surface is holding up very well. With its high sides and flat bottom it is greay for preparing foods that need to be sauteed and then cooked, perfect for stews, oriental cooking, and dishes where you create a sauce after browning your meat, fish and poultry.

    Lodge Cast-Iron 12" Skillet - Black

Amazing performance well worth the extra effort & cost, After doing a ton of research on this site and others I finally ordered this beast and waited for its arrival. Straight out of the box I had great results (see below) and have nothing but positive things to say about this tool.

    Cooking:

A bit of reading suggested that the first things cooked in these skillets are important, and so I planed to start off with some thick cut pork chops cooked up in plenty of oil in order to add to the manufacturer's seasoning - for more on that go to the Lodge website - http://www.lodgemfg.com/signature-series.asp - regardless of what other reviewers say on this site, it's not 'sprayed on' and shouldn't be able to peal or crack. The point of cast iron is that if the seasoning fails (sounds like she got a bum item and should have had it replaced!) it's VERY simple to reseal it. Back to the pork chops - as with others just starting out, I had some sticking, but very little - see clean up below.
Cooks beautifully, (What's this?) This pan has been great. I've grown tired of my scratched and peeling teflon pans, and decided to give cast iron a try. I am so glad I did. Although this skillet comes pre-seasoned, I added my own seasoning by wiping it inside and out with grapeseed oil and placing it on my gas grill for an hour (twice). The first couple of times I used this skillet, I was disappointed because I had some sticking, and it appeared to have hot spots. But now, as long as I pre-heat sufficiently, I get very little sticking, and it cooks perfectly. I brought this out when we went camping, and it was a breeze to make scrambled eggs and bacon.

The stainless steel handles are great, and make this skillet so much more functional. I like being able to grip the skillet when I'm cooking, and the stainless steel means I don't have to grab oven mitts every time I touch the skillet (the short handle does get hot). For a family of four, the 12 inch skillet is a good size (although I'm considering buying a cast iron griddle since I seem to be making a lot of grilled sandwiches, and you can only get three, maybe four pieces of bread in the skillet). I like how the sides of this skillet don't have a large slope - there's more skillet surface for food (although the corner was a hassle to clean when I had food sticking there). The skillet is heavy, but manageable with the two handles.
Don't bother with cheaper models, I got one of the Lodge cash iron pans, and found it to be very clumsy, the handle was short, and of course being cast with the pan, got so hot you had to use mits, which made it even worse. So I wrote it off and ordered this one instead. Night and day, the shape of this pan is much better, a deep flat well which maximizes the cooking surface and keeps splatters down. The handles work as they do on any other pan, they stay cool and allow you muscle this heavy pan around.

After using this for awhile, I think I'll get the 10" pan for regular use, and reserve this for when it's needed. It's too heavy to toss around when you're pouring sauces out, etc. But hey, a 12" iron pan is bound to be heavy, no complaints.
Love it., (What's this?) Been using this for 2 months now and it has worked great. It is big enough for full length bacon (and that is very important). Cooks food evenly and heats up as quickly as can be expected for cast iron. It doesn't bother me, but it is very heavy. I think it is the heaviest piece of cookware in the kitchen for us. So if you don't want something really heavy. This probably isn't the product for you. My wife and I love it and would buy another one.
These are beautiful.., Mama Mia.. this set is truly beautiful. Outstanding craftsmanship, lovely to clean up and cooks wonderfully! I became increasingly discouraged when I would attempt to pan fry steaks or evenLodge Cast-Iron 12" Skillet - Black to brown a pot roast. I am back to basics and am loving it.
Quite Simply, the Best Cast Iron Skillet Made, (What's this?) This is a superior item. I have had a few cast iron pieces before and was always looking for one that would solve a few of my hang ups. Namely: The handles get too hot and they look like an item from an old western camp cook out.

I have always loved my cast iron cookware, they are virtually indestructable, cook evenly and clean up is a snap. I have had a 12" skillet for 5 years and used it about 2-5 times a week, every week for those 5 years. Very heavy usage because of the reasons stated above. That skillet was seasoned to perfection. Eggs would slide off of it like they were cooked on glass.
Just what I was looking for., (What's this?) I have been needing to replace my teflon skillets, and didn't want to continue using the nonstick products. This pan has been great. I am glad I upgraded to the signature series, as the pan is heavy, and the helper handle is very useful. The handles stay cool while cooking. I did do some extra seasoning of this pan at home. First I fried bacon 2 separate times, then I coated it with a light layer of grapeseed oil and baked it at 450 for 1 hour upside down. Then I cooked 2 more fatty meats on it. I now can easily fry and egg, and do anything else, and there is no sticking. I have been faithful about not using soap, and drying it right after it has been washed. When completely dry I put a LIGHT coating of oil and store it. Long review, but I think if you spend the extra couple minutes on care and seasoning you will be happy with this pan for many years.
Wonderful out of the box, keeps getting better, (What's this?) I owned several other pieces of cast iron prior to this, and used them often, but they were hard to move, and the surfaces left much to be desired. When I got this, I immediately fell in love. It comes pre-seasoned, better than most Lodge pans, and worked well right away. The workspace is large and flat, with nice sides to reduce the spatter. However, after several months of use, it gets even better, and I can now fry eggs on it successfully. The handles work great, and although it weighs a ton, I can move it around by the long handle with no mitt. If I want to move it a long distance, I can use the helper handle with a mitt. The only downside is that it is hard to keep the stainless handle nice and shiny, as you don't want soap on the cast iron, but you do on the handle. So the base of the handles is building up a patina.

Thunder Group 10 Inch Aluminum Fry Pan

Great pans, (What's this?) I bought these pans a couple months ago and very pleased with them. The teflon coating is excellent and they are easy to clean. The only downside is that the handle is aluminum and you have to wrap a pot holder around it since the handle heats up. I will buy more when needed.

    Lodge Logic Pre-Seasoned 10-1/2-Inch Cast-Iron Square Skillet

    Lodge Logic Pre-Seasoned 10-1/2-Inch Cast-Iron Square Skillet
Love it!, I have tons of Lodge Cast Iron, I'm from Tennessee, where it's made and we have outlets here and I always have to pick up something new. My latest find is this square pan. I think I bought it because I liked the way it looked but after using it, I love it for many more reasons. I never realized how much better food fits into a square pan and my spatula just fits in the corners better in the square than it does the round ones. Lodge comes pre-seasoned now and mine was excellent. The very first things I cooked in it were pancakes and eggs and both came out perfectly just like I was using a Teflon non-stick skillet.
Lodge cast iron skillet, (What's this?)
Just right., (What's this?) Got exactly what I ordered. Got it when it was promised. Good product, good shipping (free, by the way). The only confusing thing is why two pans (10"x10"x3") were shipped in a box that was waaaaaaaaaaay too big for them and included a ridiculous amount of packing material??? Still, completely satisfied.
Pretty Perfect, (What's this?) This is a great cast-iron skillet! We use it for almost everything. It is extremely durable, heavy, and certainly worth the cost! I had to buy two of these as I dropped the first one on our tile floor and it cracked.
The size is perfect for fried eggs, cornbread, etc.
Lodge is the best., (What's this?) This is one skillet I use over and over again. I was a little hesitant about using a square shaped pan as far as cleaning out the corners, but Lodge's products are always pre-seasoned so well this hasn't been an issue at all. The high sides are great for cooking dishes that have sauces. I love it and highly recommend this pan as a great all purpose skillet.
One of the best items Lodge sells., (What's this?) I'm not sure what's going on with Lodge, but the quality of their products has noticeably improved.
I bought a 2 burner griddle from TJMaxx which was thinner and more precisely formed than what they used to put out, yet still had enough mass to grant one all the benefits of cast iron, although I use it in the oven, rather than the stovetop most of the time.

Now this square pan, which I love. Although it's the standard 10 1/2" size, the square shape seems to be more efficient. I can cook two steaks, or two chicken breasts at the same time, which I sear, then finish in the oven, make a great skillet dinner by roasting potatoes, carrots, squash & meat all in one dish and also makes a great cake pan.

Both items were pre-seasoned, but I added another 3 layers of coconut oil.
    Great skillet, love the shape.
Best ever, (What's this?) This is without a doubt the best skillet we have ever owned. It is heavy duty cast-iron that came well seasoned. It distributes the heat very well so the food cooks evenly. The only reason I did not rate it as 6 star is because I would have liked it to be a little bigger to accommodate slices of bacon. We do like the square shape and the deep sides. Now make one 12" and I'll order it too.
Still needs seasoning, (What's this?) I like this pan, and use it often, but I still feel like I need to season it after every use, and I still use oil or spray when using it. I don't feel like it has that perfectly seasoned coating to make things just slide off it. I'll keep using it and seasoning it, and hopefully at some point it will be like that, but don't buy it thinking it really is pre-seasoned.
Lodge Skillet, (What's this?) I received this skillet on time and the cost was very reasonable. We immediately tried it with a cornbread recipe in the oven. We were pleased that the skillet performed as we had expected. We have used the skillet on the stove top and have had excellent results.
Great Pan, Terrible Coating, (What's this?) The "seasoned" coating on this product is horrible. The factory coating must have wax or something and to rid the pan of it I followed the instructions to add additional seasoning to the pan. The result was a sticky mess. I decided to stick the pan in the oven using the cleaning cycle, a method I use to clean my commercial grade half sheet pans and it ridded the pan of the sticky problem. I then used a vegatable oil and seasoned the pan using a process similar to the product instructions and all is good.
