Heuck 33062 Porcelain Enamel Cast Iron 3 Piece Skillet Set, Red

They DO explode -- very poor quality, (What's this?) I bought these pans about two years ago for a very low price during one of Amazon's sales. I was skeptical of the reviews about exploding enamel and figured that the most likely explanation for that was simply user error. To those who warned me: I apologize! My neighbors bought these pans at about the same time. They lasted about a year and a half in both our households -- then the exploding began.

PROS:
1) They're cheap -- or they were. They now cost far more than what I paid for them.

2) They lasted about as long as I happened to need them -- but it looks like I was one of the lucky ones. As a temporary kitchen item, they worked out well for me.

3) They're pretty. They look nice as serving dishes, and I liked having a splash of red in my otherwise neutral-toned kitchen.
Beware the expoling enamel!, (What's this?) I read the previous reviews with great skeptisism, but come to find out they really do explode. Was sauteing some tomatoes like I had done before, when I heard a pop. Turned to see pieces of enamel from the bottom of the pan scattered around in the skillet and on the stove. All I can say is I'm glad I wasn't in the way when it happened. Seriously, this product should be recalled before someone really does get hurt.
Exploded on first use, (What's this?) I purchased these in 2008 and one of the skillets exploded on the first use. There were tiny shards of glass all over my kitchen and in our dinner. I tried to file a safety hazard report with Amazon, but couldn't make it through all the legal disclosures. I wasn't able to return them as I waited longer than 30 days to use them. We threw them in the trash. I have several Lodge and Le Creuset enameled pans that I have used for years without any problems. I saw these today while searching for something else. I'm surprised they are still being sold. Please don't buy these.
Heuck 33062 Porcelain, (What's this?) The porcelain coating is very cheap...I made the mistake to put the pan in the sink while the pan was hot. The white porcelain coating broke like glass...I WILL NOT RECOMEND THIS BRAND. UNSAFE.
Terrible, I was excited to find an enamel cast iron pan other than le crueset. I received this and made something in it and when cleaning, the enamel completely chipped off!! I read that this product was made cheaply but that is an understatement. There is only one small layer of enamel. I think other brands have a few so it is thicker and more durable. I will never buy another product from this company again and will splurge the extra money for something that is better made.
Worthless!, (What's this?) I purchased this set within the last year, and I have had to replace ALL THREE PIECES! The enamel chipped off of two, and the handle of the largest arrived broken.
I haven't used them. They are a Christmas gift for my daughter. She loves enamel cookware. I'm sure she will love them., (What's this?) Product was exactly what I was looking for as a gift and very similar to products I have purchased in department stores. The person I am buying for will only use cast iron and enamel cookware. The price was very reasonable.
Heuck Porcelain Enamel Skillets, (What's this?) I really like this product and most of all the service that came with the product. One of the pans peeled when I used it and I contacted the company and they replaced it right away without any questions asked. I would purchase anything from them again.
A Great Alternative to Teflon, (What's this?) My family decided to stop using Teflon cookware, which meant we needed some good, enamel-coated, pans. We decided to try this set. My experience with these pans has been extremely positive, which I will explain below.

First, they are a great deal, and sturdy. I couldn't find any set of coated cast iron pans that came even close to this low price. I have read the other reviews about the pans exploding, etc, and I can say that with almost a year of daily use, we haven't had any problems.

Second, the coating does a decent job of reducing sticking. If you want a near-perfect non-stick coating, you will have to use Teflon, because any healthy alternative just won't perform as well. Nonetheless, if used properly, these are pretty nearly non-stick. The keys to success are to make sure you use enough oil, don't turn the heat up too high too soon, and give the food time to cook before disturbing or flipping it.

Third, this package is versatile.
waste, (What's this?) the first time i used these to cook in the red peeled....
